HELP OZHARVEST FIGHT HUNGER
OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, is dedicated to the collection of high-quality surplus food from commercial establishments and its direct distribution to over 1,300 charitable organisation, providing vital support to individuals and families in need across the country.
Founded in 2004 by Ronni Kahn AO, who was inspired by the significant amount of perfectly good food being wasted in the hospitality industry, she embarked on a mission to find a more sustainable solution. Beginning in Sydney with one van, generously donated by Goodman+ Foundation, she managed to deliver 4,000 meals within the first month.
Today OzHarvest operates nationally, rescuing more than 180 tonnes of food every week
In light of OzHarvest’s increased demand for assistance during the Christmas season, Retail First has partnered with All Purpose Transport to raise food donations. We are encouraging customers to donate a couple of cans, a bag of pasta or a box of cereal – or any non-perishable food items that will make a meaningful difference for families in need.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
During your next shopping trip at Coles, consider buying non-perishable food items such as a tin of baked beans, packet of pasta or oats. You can then drop these items into donation box located outside Coles. All Purpose Transport will regularly collect and deliver these donations to OzHarvest who will distribute them to charity and welfare organisations in Queensland to those who need them the most. Your contribution will make a significant impact on those in need within our community.
