LITTLE STEPS, BIG CULTURES
A FREE multicultural movement and music program for little ones.
Each session is themed and packed with fun – story time, sensory play, dance, and music.
Children are encouraged to dress for the weekly theme!
WHEN: Tuesdays during the School Term
TIME: 9.30am – 11.00am
WHERE: Outside Kmart
WEEKLY THEMES:
Week 1 – Circus themed – Circus story, circus cues, hoop play, ribbons and balance
Week 2 – Emotions themed – Poem, Yo Gabba dance, uplift mix
Week 3 – Space themed – Space Story time, 4 planets dance exploration
Week 4 – Hip Hop Class – Hip Hop book, Mr. Chris songs
Week 5 – Cultural themed – Pacific Islands – craft – story – dance
Week 6 – Mindful Art – Art book look, sensory play and art creation
Week 7 – Nature – Nature story time, nature art class, follow-along dance Sand Hands
Week 8 – Cultural themed – Culture TBC – will be programmed according to culture of families attending
Week 9 – Hip Hop – Mr. Chris songs and choreography play
Week 10 – Children’s choice – play zone and end of term party
For the first few weeks whilst the group builds and Manda gets to know the families the program will be based more around fun and colour. During this time she will be able to establish which cultural groups to embrace during the following sessions.
